This super cute slouchy tam is fun to make and quick to work up, with directions for infant/toddler thru adult. Worked from the top down, it’s nice and warm, yet the open stitches are great for those fall days when you want to wear a hat, but don’t want to overheat.

Finished Size: Todder (Child, Adult) 7.5 (9 1/2, 11 1/4) inches in diameter across top of hat lying flat.

Yarn: Any Fingering (Sport/DK, Worsted) yarn, approx 190 yards.

Hook: Size C: 2.75mm (E: 3.5mm, G: 4mm) Adjust hook as necessary to obtain correct gauge.

Notions: Darning needle for weaving in ends.

Gauge: Easily achieved by working rounds 1 and 2 (middle flower), then measuring width.
Diameter should measure 2 (2.5, 3) inches across (slightly stretched) after row 2.

Skill Level: Advanced beginner, need to be comfortable working in the round and increasing/decreasing.

Written in standard US terms.
