This listing is for a PDF pattern for crocheted flower motif hexagon and NOT actual hexagon.

Hexagons are mostly used for blankets, throws and blankets. However, you can use the flowers without the hexie frame to decorate cushions and blankets, maybe attach on hats and bags, or use for other decoration. They also make beautiful brooches.

Yarn and hook: Sport yarn of your choice (I love working with Tango and Phil Cotton 3) and a 3 mm hook (UK 11/ US D). Left over yarn is perfect for this project. Less than 5-10 gr of yarn is needed for all the layers of the flower. The flower is made with 6 colors, while the 7th is the green one for the hexagon square, but I have also included it in one of the flower’s layers. Mind that you can use whatever yarn size/weight (and relevant hook for that weight) you have at hand; that will only influence the size of your flower – hence smaller weights of yarn will yield smaller flowers, heavier weights will produce big/large flowers.

Other: Tapestry needle for weaving ends.

Stitches in American terminology: chain (ch), chain space (ch-sp), stitch (st.), slip stitch (sl st), single crochet (sc), half double crochet (hdc), double crochet (dc), treble (tr), 3 and 4 dc/tr-cluster, 3-chain picot.
Measurement of flower: 14.5 x 10 cm (5.51” x 3.93”).
Measurement of finished hexagon: 15 cm (5.90”) across and 18 cm (7.08”) down.
