This pattern was designed to fit standard cork pot mats, but if you can’t get hold of these mats, you can also use quilt batting instead. This pattern makes provision for both options. It is a fun project to use stash or leftover yarn. I have used Vinnis Colours Nikkim DK 100% cotton (50 g balls) in Natural, Raspberry, Ballet Pink, Peach, Mint, Turquoise and Sunshine, but you may use any yarn you like in a DK. Cotton also work the best. The central flower motif is a beautiful and versatile design that can be used in garments, scarves, blankets or can be incorporated in ay other design.
