A quick and easy curtain tie pattern that will work with any size yarn and hook. I used Planet Penny Cotton Club DK weight yarn and a D/3.25mm hook; try also Patons Grace or Cascade Ultra Pima.

Worked in DK weight, ties are about 1½“ wide by whatever length you choose. (Mine are 18” long.)

Flutter-By Ties are worked in two passes: the flutter-by shapes are crocheted first, to the desired length, then the top dc edging is added.

Worked in other weight yarns, the Flutter-By pattern can also be used as:

~ Lacy sew-on trim for towels or blankets
~ Bracelet or necklace (replace one end loop with button)

The lower portion of the trim would make a pretty edging for any crochet project.

The free pattern, with chart and phototutorial, can be found on my blog (link below).

Thanks for viewing, and happy crocheting! :)
