A simple raglan sweater with stranded colourwork bands worked in the round in 4ply/fingering weight yarn. Worked at 27 stitches and 32 rows per 4 inches/10cm in the following sizes:

34” chest - negative ease ~ 2”

Circumference under bust: 32.5”

Length from neck to underarm: 11”

Body length from neck: 27”

Circumference at waist: 34”

38” chest - negative ease ~ 3”

Circumference under bust: 35.25”

Length from neck to underarm: 11.75”

Body length from neck: 28”

Circumference at waist: 37”

42” chest - negative ease ~ 4”

Circumference under bust: 37.5”

Length from neck to underarm: 13.75”

Body length from neck: 29.5”

Circumference at waist: 39”

46” chest - negative ease ~ 6”

Circumference under bust: 40”

Length from neck to underarm: 15”

Body length from neck: 31”

Circumference at waist: 42.5”

Tools:

  • 3.75mm/US 5 circular needle (or size to get gauge)
  • 5 stitch markers
  • row counter
  • tapestry needle


Materials: 4 ply fingering weight yarn in two colours.

  • Main colour: 875 (950, 1,100, 1,200) yards

  • Contrast colour: 260 (265, 300, 330) yards

Difficulty: Intermediate, simple increases and decreases, stranded colourwork (two colours), icord bind off, knitting in the round, knitting flat.
