A very simple pattern which starts with 2 stitches, gradually widens to 24 stitches and then reduces to 2 stitches.

The main long, shallow, triangular shape is knitted in Faggot stitch (YO, K2tog, YO, K2tog, etc) with one edge stitch (knit) at each side.

The flame edging on the curve is crocheted using (UK terms) double crochet, slip stitch, chain stitch and double / long treble.

The knitted section is in chart form only but -- since crochet can sometimes be confusing -- both written and charted directions are included for the edging.

It’s such a basic pattern that you can change just about anything you like without causing any real problems !

If you find an error or think something could be explained more clearly, do not hesitate to pm me. I’ll be very happy to make revisions.
