For this wingspan I used a 3mm hook, one ball of Schoppel-Wolle Zauberball 459 yards (420 meters) and one ball of Katia Panama - black 197 yards (180 meters). I had only a small amount left over at the end of this project.

The overall wingspan has eleven wings, measuring 13.5 inch tip to end of each wing, 8 inch from the neckline to the bottom on wing and 54 inch on the neckline.

You can choose to add or subtract wings.
This wingspan isn’t quite made as a whole piece, but it has the look as a one piece item. A basic understanding of the Original Crochet Wingspan would be of benefit.
You will be making short rows of work to form the rounded wing.

You will need to understand the following stitches/USA terms –
Ch – Chain
Sc – Single crochet
2sctog – 2 single crochet worked together
Slst – Slip stitch
Sts – Stitches
Yf – yarn forward
A – Katia
B - Zauberball

Special Note
There are many ways to work different colours in crochet, I have NOT detailed this in the pattern, you, can choose how you feel most comfortable doing this. I am quite happy using long floats on the back of my work and working them in as I go along.

Please read the pattern through so you understand my style of pattern writing

Each wing took approx. an hour to make, and the overall project took me 13 hours.
