Fog Bank is a simply shaped, super chunky hat and mittens set, embellished by gradient-style colour changes. The colours are worked in simple stripes, but a clever use of slipped stitches creates a fun zagging transition without the trouble of stranding. Both hat and mittens are worked in the round from the bottom up. The mittens have a ribbed cuff and the thumb is worked after finishing the thumb gusset and before moving on to complete the rest of the hand. The hat features a Garter Stitch brim. The super bulky yarn, easy colourwork, and simple shaping make for a speedy knit that’s cozy and fun.

Finished Measurements:
Hat: 16 (17 ¾, 19 ½, 21 ¼)“ / 40 (42.5, 47.5, 52.5) cm circumference x 6 ¾ (7, 7 ¼, 8 ¼)” / 15 (17.5, 17.5, 20) cm depth (not including pompom); hat is meant to be worn with 10-15% negative ease. Choose a finished size about 2-3” / 5-7.5 cm smaller than head.
Mittens: 4 ½ (6, 7 ½, 9)“ / 11.5 (15, 19, 23) cm hand circumference x 4 (5 ¾, 7 ½, 8 ½)” / 9 (14.5, 19, 21) cm hand length, plus 2 (2 ½, 3, 3 ½)“ / 5 (6.5, 7.5, 9) cm cuff.
