Forestry is a close-to-neck cowl with an all-over cable pattern. The slight funnel shape is achieved by changing needle size during knitting. Inspired by spruce forests and foresters working in challenging conditions.

Yarn:
The sample was made with Merino Melange by GGH. For a similar result, the yarn can be substituted with other 4-plied sport weight merino yarn. 300-350 m (330-380 yards) needed.

Needles and Notions:

  • 40cm(16”) circular needle size needed to obtain gauge
  • 40cm(16”) circular needle of above gauge size
  • 40cm(16”) circular needle of an above size of the previous
  • cable needle (if needed, featured cables can be easily worked without)
  • darning needle

The sample was made with sizes 3, 3.5 and 4 mm (US 2.5, 4 and 6)
