Sometimes, one comes across a yarn for which no pattern appears to do it justice. This is what happened to me with Sunshine Yarns Merino Worsted in Forks. A beautiful yarn with various shades of greens and browns of a rich, dense forest, such as the forests surrounding the town of Forks, Washington, in the Twilight movie series.

In keeping with the yarn and its source of inspiration, I designed this hat. It is a worsted weight hat with a strong leaf motif: two different leaf lace patterns play a starring role. Decreases are designed to accentuate the leaf motif.

Row by row instructions for shaping the hat are given. For the lace sections of the hat, written instruction and charts are provided as well.
