A deceptive mitten: although the color and the delicate lace pattern make them seem more of a decorative frippery than a serious winter accessory, the yarn choice makes them very practical indeed. They are ideal in white for a winter wedding, in black for a formal event, or as a bit of elegance under your practical mittens. If your office is cold, they could even suit to wear at your desk on dress-up days.

Unlike many all-over patterned mittens, ribbing at the cuff and the upper edges on the palm side means that there’s no compromise in fit.

*******UPDATE/Errata note: There’s a problem with the chart as published, unfortunately. The no-stitch symbols in Rnd 2 should be knits; those symbols should appear in Rnd 4 of the chart.

I have reported to the publisher, and this should be updated in the next version. I have also uploaded a portion of that as a photo, that shows you how it should be.**********
