Decorate your home year round with these beautiful and unique placemats! Whether used as accents for your home or table or for gifts, they will draw everyone’s attention and admiring comments.

The set includes basic directions for the placemats, which are knit in the round using the entrelac technique and then felted, plus suggestions for different colorways and finishing embroidery accents for the various seasons.

Yarn: Cascade 220 (not superwash) or other feltable worsted- weight yarn. Yarn is held double throughout. Each placemat takes about 250-270 yds altogether. Directions for specific color choices and for the yardage required to achieve the designs in the photos are given in a table on page 8.

Needles: Because of the loose gauge, plastic, bamboo, or other wooden/non-slick needles work better than slick metal ones, as the slick ones are harder to hang onto.

2 US size 11 (8 mm) 16” circulars or DPNs
	1 US size 11 (8 mm) 24”-29” circular

Notions: Size G or H crochet hook; sliding stitch markers; tapestry needle; scissors; measuring tape; medium-sized zippered bag for felting; access to a top-loading washer.

Gauge: About 3 stitches and 4 rows per inch before felting.

Finished size: Before felting, about 16-18” across; after felting, about 13-14” across. For a trivet-sized piece to match your placemats, just use a single strand but follow the same directions.
