Fox Face fingerless gloves/mitts in DK wool with fox’s face and ears on the front. The backs of the mitts are plain.

The mitts in the photograph were knitted in Rowan Tweed DK pure wool, colour Bainbridge, but any DK weight wool could be used. About 40gm of the main colour is needed, plus a small amount of white for the fox’s chest and oddments of black and green for the nose and eyes (buttons could be used for the eyes, if preferred). The fox is knitted using the intarsia method, but the mitts could be knitted plain and the contrast colours worked in duplicate stitch afterwards. The ears are knitted separately and sewn to the top of the mitts, behind the top ribbing.

The fox mitts are in One Size and the finished gloves measure approximately 9cm/3½” wide and 16cm/6¼” long from bottom of cuff ribbing to top of mitt (not counting the ears). The main part of the mitts are worked on size 4mm/UK8 needles.

Charts for both left and right mitt are included, along with full knitting instructions.
