PDF knitting pattern for a pair of fingerless mitts/gloves with a red fox sitting on the fronts. The palms of the mitts are plain.

The mitts in the photographs were knitted in Patons Diploma Gold 4ply in Colour 4212, which is teal. The fox is in rust Rowan pure wool 4ply and it has a black nose, eyes and feet. There are cream patches on the face, chest, tummy and tail, with a brown edge around the face, legs and tail.

The gloves could be knitted in any 4ply weight wool, cashmere or cotton.

The motifs are knitted using the intarsia method, but the mitts could be knitted in plain stocking stitch and the pattern added afterwards using duplicate stitch/Swiss darning.

Charts for both left and right mitt are included, in both symbols or colour, together with typed knitting instructions.

The approximate measurements for the mitts are: 8.5cm/3.25” wide (unstretched and not counting the thumb), 13.5cm/5.25” long from top of rib to cast-off edge and 2.5cm/1” long rib. The mitts could be made slightly larger or smaller by altering the size of the needles
