Originally published in Fleisher’s Knitting and Crocheting Manual, 1922.

Tunic-length garter fabric pullover in large checkerboard pattern, Old Rose and pink. Wide hem edge all in solid Old Rose (darker color) .

Hem in one band of Old Rose/dark.

Neck finished with one round of single crochet in Old Rose.

Authentic early flapper sweater (straight lines, low “waist” at tunic length), instructions are very short and vague to modern knitters’ expectations. The other sweater in the same photo features a short sweater length, still sporting the Gibson-Girl waist and baggy front. A fascinating time of big change in costuming/clothing styles.
