The idea for this colorwork design came from my love of architecture and design, in this case, a love of modern stained glass windows. When the Fragments Cowl came to life,I knew straight away that a corresponding sweater design was in order as well. A blank chart is provided to help you create your own color scheme. Modern and simple, it´s an invitation to play, and promises eye-catching results, no matter what color scheme is chosen.

PATTERN NOTES:

The Fragments Sweater is worked in the round from the top down, starting with the yoke. Short rows are used to lower the front and improve the fit at the neckline. Once colorwork and shaping are complete, the work is separated for body and sleeves, which are both finished in the round and top down.

SIZES:

1 (2, 3, 4, 5) (6, 7, 8, 9)

to fit chest circumference 75 (85, 95, 105, 115) (125, 135, 145, 155) cm/30 (34, 38, 42, 46) (50, 54, 58, 62)“

I recommend choosing a size with 10-15 cm/4-6” positive ease to get a comfortable fit. Sample is worn with approx. 12.5 cm/5” positive ease.

3.5 mm/US 4 circular needle (100 cm/40“, 80 cm/32“ and 60 cm/24“) or size needed for gauge.
3 mm/US 2½ circular needle (80 cm/32“ and 60 cm/24“) or two sizes smaller than gauge needle.

GAUGE:

25 sts and 36 rows in 10 cm/4“ on larger needle in stockinette and colorwork, worked in the round (blocked).
Row gauge is especially important for this design, since it defines the yoke depth and therefore the fit around the shoulders.
