Such a fun knit! This design is one of those that is much simpler to knit than appears. It is an easily learned cable pattern mixed with simple eyelet stitch. People will think you are a knitting genius when they see your work! It is a dropped shoulder worked from the top down with positive ease and fitted sleeves to make a comfortable, flattering fit. I really like the name Frances but could not think not think of a way to connect “free man” the meaning of the name to the sweater. But decided to go with it anyway because somehow it seems fitting.

Notes:
This drop shoulder pullover is constructed seamlessly from the top down. Back and front are worked separately from the saddle shoulder down to the underarm, then joined in one piece to work lower body in the round. Stitches are picked up around the armholes to work the ¾ sleeves from the top down. There is no body shaping.
The length of the body and sleeves are easily adjusted.
The cable charts are same stitch pattern, differing only in starting point in order to create staggered cables
