The Frangipani Shawl, inspired by tropical flowers, will bring a ray of sunshine to a cold winter day. This semicircular shawl is knit in two colours of sockweight yarn, in a luxurious alpaca, silk, cashmere blend that will drape beautifully across your shoulders or wrap warmly around your neck like a scarf. The combination of stripes and simple lace patterns make this shawl a fun, relaxing knit.

The pattern is written in my percentage checklist style to help you keep track of the pattern and know how much of the pattern you have completed. It also includes charts for the lace border.

Frangipani trees may seem like a strange inspiration in the middle of northern hemisphere winter but I was holidaying at “home” in tropical Queensland, Australia when inspiration struck and I was delighted by seeing one of my favourite flowers blooming everywhere and filling the air with their beautiful scent.
