Frankie is designed as a cot sized blanket, but works well when folded up and tucked over Baby’s lap in the car seat or pram from birth onwards. You may even decide to knit the blanket for yourself as a lap blanket for the winter evenings.

The blanket is worked length ways (side to side, rather than top down), and the nature of the stitch pattern means the
blanket is beautifully stretchy. The dropped yarn overs trap air close to the body, keeping Baby (or your lap!), cozy
and warm.

Although the gauge is not crucial, the finished object needs to be blocked after completion in order to really show off the
drop stitch effect. I recommend stretching and pinning out the blanket whilst it’s blocking in order to get the quoted
finished dimensions.
