Freddy!: A Nightmare on Ami Street by Ann D'Angelo

Freddy!: A Nightmare on Ami Street

This pattern is available from etsy.com for $3.00.

This adorably sinister little amigurumi stands 5.5 inches tall when finished and features all of the things we love to fear about Freddy Krueger: His iconic striped sweater, his creepy brown Fedora, his serious facial scarring, and oh yeah, those finger knives!

I have labeled this pattern as an “intermediate” pattern because of the number of color changes (see also iconic striped sweater) and the slightly nontraditional construction of the hat, which might flummox a brand spanking new beginner. Assuming this is not your first time at the amigurumi rodeo, however, you’ll find the instructions clear, the 15+ pictures helpful, and the stitches simple and straightforward. (Like … seriously simple and straightforward. There are 2 DC stitches in the whole darn thing.)

This is a fun pattern that works up quickly with yarn colors you very likely have in your stash - namely, red, black, “flesh,” brown, and a small bit of silver or gray. Throw in a scrap of white felt smaller than your pinky finger for the optional teeth, and you’re good to go!
