Pattern Description from Interweave Knits, Winter 2008: “Pam Allen knows that in the right yarn, small-footprint patterns can pack a punch. Worked in a fine angora blend, the dense two-color herringbone pattern feels at once graphic and softly subtle.”

Finished Size: 22” circumference at brim.

Yarn: Classic Elite Fresco (60% wool, 30% baby alpaca, 10% angora; 164 yd 151 m/50 g): #5375 graystone (MC) and #5303 cinder (CC), 1 skein each.

Needles: Size 2 (2.75 mm): 16” circular (cir). Size 3 (3.25 mm): 16” cir and set of 5 double-pointed (dpn). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions: Markers (m); tapestry needle, one 5⁄8” button.
