Freya is named for the goddess associated with love, beauty and fertility in the Nordic mythology. The socks celebrate these features by displaying a simple, yet beautiful stitch pattern that runs up the foot and sprouts into two branches on the leg of the sock.

The sock is worked from the toe up, it has shaping under the foot to make the fit snug, and it is finished off by a delicate lace ribbing at the cuff.

Freya is the fifth and final instalment of the MacKintosh Yarns Sock Club 2009/2010.
