The iconic Frida was not only an emblematic mexican artist : she also was a very intense, passionate, pioneer feminist and courageous woman. This pattern is an humble tribute to her memory.

TO MAKE THIS PATTERN YOU WILL NEED TO KNOW HOW TO :

begin with a magic ring
single crochet
increase
invisible decrease
switch color
work in continuous rounds

………………………………….

GAUGE :

Gauge is not essential for this project : you can use any size of hook you want as long as your yarn choice is consistent with it. Just be careful to work tight stitches so as the stuffing doesn’t show through.

As an indication : I used a 3.00 mm hook and my doll ended 16cm high.

………………………………….

SUPPLIES :

Crochet hook (I used a size 3.00mm)

  • Yarn (matching the hook size you chose) : Flesh, black, green, red
  • Thinner yarn (e.g. #8 pearl cotton and 1.5 crochet hook) : Black, Pink (or whatever color you choose for Frida’s flowers)
  • Red felt (small piece, needed for mouth)
  • Tapestry needle
  • Stuffing material (fiberfill)
  • Pins
  • Scissors
