MATERIALS: Shiny quality crochet cotton no. 20, white, about 205 yds. Steel crochet hook US size 11 (size 9 if you tend to work tightly) or SIZE FOR GAUGE.

A charted doily in 27 rounds with brief instructions for rounds 1 through 4 and rounds 5 through 9, explanation of round 14. This doily has a chained center and sun pattern surrounded by arched rays.

Pattern features:
sc in sc
chain in chain (4 rounds of 24-ch4’s and 1 in ch5’s)
shell in shell
triangles of decreasing dcs
V-stitch
2 tr clusters
triple triple crochet (yo 5 times, pull up loo and draw through 2 loops at a time, 5 times)
crowns of dc and tr and crowns with picots.

Editor’s note: featured photograph used crochet cotton no. 10 with US size 10 hook yielded a 15” in diameter doily however used about 275 yds of thread rather than 205 yds.
