A top down sock created with motifs borrowed from two beautiful pieces of Japanese fabric. The cuff motif is from an Obi and the ankle and instep are from an old kimono-- both jaw-droppingly beautiful.

Inspired by this beauty, I have tried to capture some of the magnificence of the originals in similar colours, offset by checkerboard detailing.

I hope these will inspire you as much as the originals inspired me.

Knitted in fingering weight wool and alpaca.
