From the pattern: “This hat is worked in rows from the black border at the front, across the top of the head, then to the lower back, and is shaped with increases and decreases along the way.

Yarn:
About 98 yd (90 m) each of three colours of sport-weight yarn, held double throughout.

Needles:
Size 9 (5.5 mm) 16” (40 cm) circular needle.
