From Stitch 'N Bitch Crochet:  The Happy Hooker:

It’s often been said that crochet isn’t suitable for creating clothing because crocheted items are stiff and heavy.  This project shows that it doesn’t have to be that way.  By using "granite stitch" (also called "seed stitch") and a large hook, you can create a light and airy piece.  Also, because of the large hook, FrouFrou won’t take forever to finish.  The ruffles and fitted form make this cardigan very feminine.  Add a personal touch by choosing a closure you like:  a shiny brooch, cool pin, heavy button or romantic ribbon.
