I have always been intrigued by bold textures in crochet and this particular one looked very intimidating to me, so it took me a long time to get up the gusto to try it! Oh, how pleased I was to find out what a relaxing, easy repeat it is! I love how defined the rich, 3D leaf shapes are that emerge from this design. This hat is a bit if a yarn eater and is the perfect use of a Caron Cake!

For this project, you will need a few things:
• Yarn: Approx. 265m of your yarn of choice. This hat can be made using any #4 yarn – just check your measurements as you go to ensure you will have a perfect fitting hat!
Shown in:
- Caron Cakes (80% Acrylic, 20% Wool blend) in Faerie Cake - #4 Medium weight yarn
• Hook: J/6.00mm hook (if you crochet loose, you may want to downsize your hook to 5mm or 5.5mm if it is working up too big)
• Pom-Pom Maker (if desired) – Clover brand #65 is what I use OR
• Faux Fur Pom Pom
• Darning Needle (to weave in ends)

I am a tight crocheter, so I have included tips and instructions on how to modify your hat size, as well as a chart to guide you when it comes to average head sizes.

As always, you are free to sell and gift your finished product as much as you’d like, but please do not copy, rewrite, or resell my pattern.
