Fru is an elongated triangular shawl, worked sideways over 5 charts (Beginning, Increase, Transition, Decrease and Ending charts, in this order). We start casting on 4 stitches and finish binding off also 4 stitches. The first two charts are worked with a Modified Feather and Fan stitch (slanted to the left). The Transition central chart, as the name suggests, creates an “s” effect, changing to Modified Feather and Fan stitch (slanted to the right). The last 2 charts are worked with the stitch motif slanted to the right side.
The edge is worked simultaneously with the body of the shawl. To add a fuzzy look, this edge is worked with the fingering and mohair yarns held together. The body of the shawl is worked only with the fingering yarn.
Fru Shawl can be comfortably knitted with straight or circular needles!
To keep your work on the track, you can use stitch markers between the body and border of the shawl and, also, at every 12 stitches, as the chart repetition.
