This pattern is available only as part of #fubc Shawl Kit available exclusively from Susan Crawford Vintage.

The limited edition #fubc shawl kit has been launched to celebrate the end of Susan’s treatment for breast cancer and to help support her local charity, Cancercare, by selling copies of the ‘Knocker Jotter’, a journal containing 16 portraits of woman at various stages of their cancer journey, as part of the kit.

The kit is a collaborative effort by Susan, her friend and fellow designer Tess Young, four of Susan’s favourite hand dyers, Skein Queen, Old Maiden Aunt, Knitting Goddess and Countess Ablaze and graphic artist, Julie Nelson-Rhodes who created an iconic and original skein band for the yarn.

Using Susan’s limited edition yarn, Ghyll, each dyer created an exclusive and very limited edition colourway inspired by one of the photos in the journal.

Each kit contains one 100gm skein of natural, undyed Ghyll, one 100gm skein of one of the limited edition colourways, a high quality printed pattern booklet containing both shawl patterns for you to choose from and a copy of the Knocker Jotter.

This shawl starts with a braided cast on and is knit top down. Striking short row detail leads into a ribbed and lace edging.
