This button scarf is knit using Imperial Yarn’s Erin (worsted weight) yarn. Erin is a soft, cushy, all wool yarn.
The scarf is reversible, and can be knit using either one or two colors. The Broken Rib stitch pattern, and the classic design make it perfect for men or for women. It is wide enough to keep cold air off of your neck, and small enough to fold up & store in your coat pocket. The buttons ensure that it stays securely around your neck. The applied i-cord bind off (on each edge) gives a smooth, elastic finish.
This is a quick knit, and makes a fabulous gift. If you are making the two-color variation, using the Erin yarn, you should have enough yarn for two scarves (reversing the colors for the second scarf).

SIZE
Finished Measurements: 28” long, 7” wide

Yarn: Erin by Imperial Yarn. The one color scarf is made with (color: Quail). The two color scarf is made with (color: Quail and Pearl Grey). Use one hank of yarn for the one color scarf, or two for the two colored scarf. Approximately 113 yards of yarn is needed for one scarf.

Needles: US 6 (4.0 mm) circular needles, or size to obtain gauge

Gauge: 4 stitches per inch in stockinette stitch

Other Materials: waste yarn in a weight that is similar to what you’re using for the scarf, tapestry needles, 4.0 mm crochet hook, 2 buttons—I used 1” buttons on the two color scarf, and 3/4” buttons on the one color scarf.
