FUNdamental Beanie

This pattern was designed as part of a series of beginner crochet patterns.

A basic hdc beanie can be adapted in so many ways. This one adds a touch of color in the body and the brim (in the optional finish.) You can adjust the height of the hat to make a rolled brim or one that does not cover the ears. This pattern uses hdc in spiraling rounds and sc in joined rounds. Use a marker on the first stitch of the round, moving the marker with each new round. Instructions include changing colors and hdc2tog (decrease).

Yarn: approx 110 yds worsted weight (#4) yarn, three colors were used with colors B and C being just a tiny amount of the total.
Hook: H-8/5.0mm

This pattern is designed to print as a bi-fold brochure. Please select “print on both sides” and “flip on short edge”.
