Like it’s older sisters, Fundamentally Faroese Shawl #1 and #2, Fundamentally Faroese #3 is designed to walk you through the unique construction of a Faroese shawl, an amazing work of knitted engineering with a logic to the construction that is best knit to be learned. With all the traditional shaping and a basic lace pattern, a Fundamentally Faroese Shawl will give you the tools and experience you need to enjoy these shawls.
In Fundamentally Faroese #3, the border is a simple eyelet outline and the gusset is patterned with eyelet stripes from bottom to top. The eyelet outline border is mitered on each side of the gusset, giving FF#3 a traditional angular shape and making it a bit shorter than FF#1. Yet another alternative, but still traditional, method of finishing for the border/gusset is used.
