This rectangular shaped stole (61.5” x 22”) or scarf (61.5” x 11”) starts with a simple lace border that transforms into a crisp, sophisticated geometric lace motif reminiscent of an English Gable Hood from the Tudor era.

The central lace motif works increases and decreases on right and wrong side rows, making this a good “next step” lace project.

This pattern uses the following techniques: knit; purl; yarn over; knit 2 together; knit 3 together; slip slip knit;
central double decrease; purl 2 together; slip slip purl (ssp);
slip with yarn in front (slip wyif); kitchner Stitch

The pattern contains both charted and written instructions.
