Dressy but casual, small but roomy enough for your essentials, this elegant bag is bound to be your new favourite accessory! Inspired by Edwardian theatre bags from the early 20th century and brought up to date with a chunky tassel and modern colours, from its pretty eyelet detailing to its delicate stripe detailing, this is a bag you’ll want to knit again and again.

Measurements: 9”/23cm by 8”/21cm approx.
Gauge: 13 sts x 18 rows per 10 x 10 cm tension square in stockinette stitch.

Yarn & Materials:
Yarn one: Hobbii Cotton Silk in ‘Oatmilk’ & Merino Extrafine in ‘Cream’, held double.
Yarn two: Hobbii Friends Wool in ‘Mustard’.
These yarns can be substituted with any DK-weight yarn in the appropriate composition.
You will also need an 8mm 16″ (40 cm) circular needle (or longer if you prefer the Magic
Loop method), a pair of 5.00mm straight or circular knitting needles, a stitch marker, a pair
of scissors and a yarn needle.

Skills & Abbreviations
CO = cast on (any type is fine, but a stretchy cast on such as the long tail method is ideal
for this project)
PM: place marker
STS = stitches
YO = yarn over
Y1, Y2… = yarn one, yarn two…
RD = round
REP = repeat
K2TOG = Knit two stitches together (decrease)
BO = bind off
K = knit stitch

You will need to know how to change colours, make a tassel and cast on invisibly.
