Welcome to week three of the 2014 Geek-A-Long, a mystery blanket knit-along! If you have no idea what I’m talking about, check out the Geek-A-Long FAQ page. Then, meet me back here when you’re ready. For the old pros, let’s talk about Sherlock Holmes.

This week we are honoring the long awaited return of BBC’s Sherlock. I. LOVE. THIS. SHOW. It would be fair to say that I’m Sher-locked. And I especially love Benedict Cumberbatch. I could spend all day just gazing into those Disney Prince eyes. I’m of the opinion that men shouldn’t even be allowed to look that good. It’s really just unfair. But I digress.

This square features the iconic 221B Baker St. address of Sherlock Holmes and John Watson and beneath it is the smiley face painted on the wall in the show. I struggled with the design work on this one as numbers and letters are clearly not reversible, and this is being done in double-knit. But for this square, and a few of the future ones, letters and numbers were unavoidable. I’m hoping you’ll forgive my oversight in the matter.
