Galaxy hat is based on a photo of part of the Ursa Major constellation. The design combines Fair Isle with fade. Working with two strands of fingering weight yarn held together allows the light to gradually emerge from the darkness. The bright center, the crown, is worked with spiral decreases which emphasize the natural swirl of the galaxy. A slight modification of the final repeat makes the design jog-less.
