I love Game of Thrones / A Song of Ice and Fire. The Stark’s family words just make sense for a scarf, don’t they? ‘Winter is Coming’. It sure is, and wrapping your neck in those words is a nice way to warm up.

I’d been wanting to make this scarf for quite a while, so I made up a chart, wrote it out and started crocheting.

I made this scarf using 1 1/2 balls of black and 1 ball of white and a 4.25mm hook. You can really use any yarn you like. I used double knitting / 8ply so it would be a good width. Also, use whatever hook that gives you a stitch that is similar in height as it is in width.

In addition to what is shown on the chart, I added 8 rows of black to each end so the fringe wouldn’t connect to the words. I didn’t include this in the chart in case anyone chose to make different lengths or use the chart for other items.

Finished scarf measures approximately 5” wide and 55.5” long (Not including any added fringe.)
