This women’s hat is knit in the round beginning with a twisted stitch ribbing. The ribbing continues up the hat with an intertwined twisted stitch pattern reminiscent of ironwork gates. The top is shaped with decreases incorporated into the twisted stitch pattern, and creates a slightly slouchy but not oversized shape.

You will need approximately 175-185 yards of a DK-weight yarn. If choosing to substitute yarns, select one with a limited amount of halo so the twisted stitch patterns will show to best advantage.

This pattern is presented in written/line-by-line form. There are no charts.
