This wrap was designed because I had seen so many extraordinary shawls and wraps made in laceweight yarn, but they were knitted. I wanted to design something crocheted. Let’s not let the knitters have all the fun, right?!!

Using just one 75g ball of Noro Cashmere Flavor, this lovely wrap was created. Noro Cashmere Flavor is a predominantly rayon laceweight blended with nylon and a skant amount of cashmere. But, you can use any laceweight yarn. Don’t let the weight of the yarn intimidate you, though! Although laceweight is very tiny, we have used an F hook to get this lovely result and make the most out of less than 700 yards.

The wrap is just wide enough to cover the shoulders and is a very generous length so that it can be tied as shown.

Included with pattern: written instructions and crochet lace stitch diagram.

I’ve had some discussion about this pattern and I wanted to post a clarification. If you have run into problems on Row 10, not to worry! A lot of people are rockin’ along on this pattern and subconsciously repeat what they’ve been doing and once they get to Row 10, there are problems. Please note that after 4 rows of center shells (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc), you will start the set-up for the center open-work filler diamond between the pineapples. The center shell of (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) stops here. You’ll still have the shells around the pineapples. But, the center one stops. That should clear up any confusion for you. Rock on with your Garden Party Wrap!
