This pattern is for a square baby blanket in garter stitch with an eyelet edging. That’s it. Simple in design, it shows off those special yarns perfectly.

This pattern would be perfect for just-no-longer-beginners who want to pick up a pattern with the beginnings of lace.

Yarn
Any DK weight yarn. Sample shown knitted using approximately 200g (450yds) of DK weight Superfine Alpaca yarn (70% Alpaca/30% BFL) from UK Alpacas. Colour way used is “Parchment”

Needles & Notions
5.00mm (circulars are probably going to be easier as you end up knitting across the diagonal of the blanket)
Tapestry needle for weaving in the ends

Gauge/Tension
12sts x 22 rows (11 garter ridges) in 10cm/4” on 5mm needles

Size chart
Depends on how much yarn you plan on using. The sample shown at the tension given measures 69cm (27 ¼“) square.
