I was playing with a stitch pattern from my stitch dictionary and came up with this lovely dishcloth. It works well with multi-colored yarn.

Cast on 41 stitches
Rows 1-5: knit
Row 6 (RS): k4, (k2tog, k2, kfb 2x, k3, ssk) 3x, k4
Row 7: k4, p33, k4
Row 8: repeat row 6
Row 9: k4, p33, k4
Row 10: repeat row 6
Row 11: k4, p33, k4
Row 12: repeat row 6
Rows 13-48: repeat rows 1-12, 3 more times
Rows 49-53: knit
Bind off
