This pattern was originally designed for the RYB September 2010 sock kit.

Twisting and turning cables create the Gates of Atlantis where lots of unique construction techniques can be found.

Gates of Atlantis features a toe-up swirl toe, after-thought heel with unique shaping, and shaping up the back of the leg to create ease in the cabled pattern.

Extravayarnza Raison D’etre 1 skein Mermaid Waltz
Needles US size 1 or 2, needles for sock knitting
(or size needed to get gauge)
4 stitch markers
Cable Needle
Darning needle
Waste yarn for afterthought heel

Gauge
32 sts & about 50 rows per 4” in stockinette

Sizes
Measure around the widest part of your foot. Look for the size that’s slightly smaller (ideally about an inch smaller) than your foot. This will help ensure a snug fitting sock. You can also achieve additional sizes by changing your gauge.
