This simple, elongated triangle shawl is deep enough to cover your back, while still draping securely around your shoulders and neck. Pair a variegated yarn with two coordinating semisolid yarns for subtle stripes or with two contrasting yarns for wild stripes.

Size: 70” wide x 23” deep at center back; lightly blocked.
This pattern is easy to resize, simply repeat sections 1-4 until the desired size is reached.

Yarn:
3 skeins of Dyeabolical Tenacious
(100 grams/380 yards, 75% superwash merino/15% nylon/10% tencel) in Bigger on the Inside (Color A), Deja Voodoo (Color B), and Gateway (Color C)

Or, fingering weight yarn in the following amounts:
Color A (semisolid): 100 grams
Color B (semisolid): 30 grams
Color C (variegated): 75 grams

Needles & Notions:
US 4 (3.5mm) 40” circular needle
4 stitch markers
Darning needle

Gauge:
20 stiches x 32 rows, stockinette stitch lightly blocked. Gauge is not overly important for this shawl, except for yardage considerations.

Errata: A new version was uploaded 10/18/17 correcting two small errors. In Section 2, work with color C for the next 16 rows. In Section 2, Rows 2, 8, 14, 16 should read “K3, p to last 3 sts, k3”.
