Lightweight and customizable: a cowl for multiple seasons.
Use 1 skein of Schoppel-Wolle Zauberball Crazy, or other light fingering, self striping or gradient yarns. You could also pull yarns from your stash for a unique, striped masterpiece!

Video tutorials are included with this pattern, for instruction with techniques that may be new to you including:

  • Magic Ring cast on
  • 3 needle-bind off
  • Picking up and knitting stitches for the border
  • 4 types of increases (m1L/m1R, kfb, L and R lifted increases, and backward loop cast on)
  • Another video compares and contrasts the look of each of the increases

Although only one size is given, it’s easy to adjust the size by making the squares larger or smaller. Note: if making squares larger than the pattern indicates, you’ll use more yarn than is suggested. You could also use a heavier weight yarn and fewer rounds for a thicker, cozy winter weight cowl.
