These mitts were patterned from Gauntlet mitts for the basic structure and I added the colorwork. Mitts start at the top of the hand and increase slightly in width as it’s worked down towards the forearm.

Any worsted yarn will do and using eyelash yarn is optional; it just adds an added bleeding effect. I will warn that if you do use a nylon eyelash yarn, be careful how you wash it cause it can get matted, ruining the effect.

In addition to the US8 needles or size needed to obtain gauge, you will also need a tapestry needle to sew up the seam. The thumb hole is created by leaving a gap in the seam.

I originally made these in black but later decided that a natural or neutral shade looks a bit like flesh..also for the fun of it. You may need more than one skein of the basic color. It’s been a while since I’ve made a pair and can’t remember if I could make a full pair on one skein, so be prepared.

These are very fun and easy mitts to make…have a blast!
