Gentleman's Sock in Railway Stitch
by Nancy Bush
(from Nancy Bush’s pattern description):
…I worked this sock almost as the original pattern was written, with a French Heel and Flat Toe, except that I used a larger needle size, worked more rows on the leg and foot than specified (to add needed length), and picked up fewer gusset stitches. The pattern for the leg and the top of the foot is a six-row repeat of knit and purl stitches that creates an interesting woven-looking fabric. The subtle color change in the heel and toe stripes adds even more interest to these man’s sock.
