Geometric Dreams if a fun mosaic project! It uses the combination of overlay mosaic and tapestry mosaic (adding a second colour in the row) and is worked in rows.
If you are new to mosaic, don’t let the graph scare you! Follow the first few rows of the written pattern (working together with the graph) which explains exactly what to do.
The pattern is written to work a 57cm (length) x 57cm (width) cushion cover and fits perfectly over a 60cm inner. Yarn thickness, hook size and tension may affect the overall size. If you cannot source a 60cm cushion inner, simply fill the cover with polyfil toy stuffing.
The wonderful thing about this pattern is that you don’t have to stitch in the row ends! They will sit on the inside of your cover and can be trimmed down once you have joined the cushion cover.

The pattern does not have step by step photo tutorials.

You will find the graph for the cushion cover in a separate download. If you are working on a mobile, you may struggle. We recommend taking the graph to a print shop and having it printed in an A3 size format. It should be fine for viewing on a tablet, a laptop or a PC.

It uses US terminology.

Skill level - Easy to Intermediate.

Material list:
• Yarn weight – Cotton DK. I would recommend working in cotton yarn for the cushion cover.
• Hook size – 3.5mm.
• Needle – for joining the squares together and sewing in ends.
• Covered cushion (60cm x 60cm). I found a cheap covered cushion at a store. This is also a great way to spruce up a cushion that is looking a bit tired. You can stitch the crochet cover straight over the existing cover or you can use a zipper.
• Polyfil stuffing (optional). You may use polyfil stuffing instead of using a covered cushion.
• Zipper (optional) – 55cm. If using a zipper, you will also need a sewing needle and thread or a sewing machine.
• Pins – for joining the squares together.

Yarn Quantities: (Colour placement differs for Square A and B)

Square A:
A – Colour A – 200g / 400 metres.
B – Colour B – 110g / 220 metres.
C – Colour C – 80g / 160 metres.

Square B:
A – Colour A – 200g / 400 metres.
B – Colour B – 110g / 220 metres.
C – Colour C – 80g / 160 metres.

Total Yardage – 1560m - please allow for a bit extra of Colour A (Square B) for whip stitching the squares together.

When choosing yarn for mosaic, it is important to choose contrasting colours so the pattern can be seen.

In the prelude (beginning pages) of the pattern you will find detailed stitch tutorials, links to video tutorials (tapestry mosaic), yarn quantities and many many more bits of useful info!
