The pattern calls for worsted weight yarn but a specific yarn is not mentioned. 2 (3, 3) 4-oz skeins of white are needed plus 1 oz each of green, blue, purple, and light blue for the grass, water, hills, and sky.

This vest is knitted in several directions. The middle panel is knitted first, the sides second, the ribbing at bottom third, and finally armhole and neck finishing.

Embroidery is done with single strand needlepoint wool:
12 yards dark green for trees
6 yards medium pink for geraniums
6 yards medium light pink for geraniums
6 yards light pink for geraniums

There is a diagram for the embroidery of the flowers.

Vest uses stockinette and seed stitch and ribbing and twisted rib.
