This elegant, loose-fitting shrug can be worn in a variety of ways to suit your taste: thrown on quickly with an open fluttering front; with the collar folded down for a smarter look; or even upside down, which lengthens the back to display the full lace panel. The design features a striking lace vine motif on the back, easy drop-shoulder sleeve construction, and textured Seed stitch borders.

The cardigan is knitted in flat pieces; one large back/front piece, and two sleeves. The back section is worked from the center outward toward the shoulders. This is to make the increases and decreases of the lace pattern on the right and left sides mirror perfectly. For a seamless look, I recommend using a provisional cast-on. The lace pattern is worked from a chart, then the rest of the pattern is worked from written instructions.
